ChAction for Chatter is a simple app that allows you to include the hashtag #nextstep in an Opportunity Chatter post and have the text from that post automatically populate the Next Step field on the Opportunity. Over time, continue using the #nextstep hashtag and your Opportunity Next Step field will always have the most up-to-date information by using salesforce.com, Chatter Desktop, or any mobile Chatter app.

ChAction also works on Leads. Once installed, a new Next Step field is added to the Lead object and the #nextstep hashtag streamlines the process for Lead updating as well.
